Kendal Championships medal success

This weekend nine of Leigh Judo Club junior judo players travelled to compete in the Kendal Coloured Belt Championships. For a number of the juniors it was their first foray into competitive judo. Controlling their emotions and nerves, with lots of effort, great movement, technique and skill there were a large number of excellent performances.

Leigh judo club results:

GOLD Rebekah Bradley
GOLD Stephanie Garner
GOLD Alex Cossey
SILVER Emma Cossey
SILVER Louie Anderson
SILVER Anaya Harris
BRONZE McKenzie Rhia
BRONZE Thomas Garner
BRONZE Rachel Brown

“ With hard work, dedication and effort, you can achieve your goals. I’m very proud of each and every one of them. The performances and results end what has been a fantastic year for the club both on and off the mat. 2018 promises to be and even greater one.”

We’re proud of all of our members but we have to make a special mention to junior members McKenzie Rhia and Rachel Brown fighting much older, experienced players in their first competition. As well as Emma Cossey and Alex Cossey competing for the first time with well developed skill.
